About the School<\/h2>\n

Welcome to the School of Liberal Arts, which encourages innovation, critical thinking and creativity across disciplines including the arts, humanities, education, languages, music, psychology and social sciences.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This school is home to the ideas and works of some of the greatest artists and thinkers of all time. Within our courses, luminaries such as Shakespeare, Plato, Picasso, Frank Lloyd Wright, Margaret Mead, Gabriel Garcia M\u00e1rquez, Edward R. Murrow, Josephine Baker, Beethoven and Jean Piaget come to life!\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our vision is to be a regional leader in providing a coherent and innovative liberal arts education, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, creative energy and intellectual curiosity to navigate the challenges of the 21st century. By graduation, students will be responsible citizens, critical thinkers, ethical leaders and contributors to the dynamic workforce of tomorrow.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We are committed to fostering an appreciation of human diversity while preparing students for the future. We honor the community college mission, and, as such, we strive to be a center for creative and critical discourse for all members of the community, an advocate for the liberal arts and a supporter of the public in their lifelong pursuits within the disciplines of the liberal arts.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our school offers degrees, certificates and courses in the arts, humanities and social sciences. We provide rigorous disciplinary coursework within the General Education foundation of all the programs and degrees at the college. Our programs lead to all associate degrees, either an Associate of Arts (A.A.), Associate of Fine Arts (AFA), Associate of Science (A.S.) or Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree. With over 20+ degree programs to pursue, ranging from the broadest Liberal Arts\/Humanities and Social Sciences to a specific area of study such as Animation, Design, Photography Technology, Visual Arts, Dance, Performing Arts, Music, Communication, Journalism, Languages or Teacher Education, we instill an appreciation for all subjects.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Outside the classroom, we emphasize the role liberal arts play in contemporary society. We also provide, to the community-at-large, various events and spaces to support their interests in liberal arts disciplines. We offer experiential learning opportunities that connect students to real-world career paths, embarking on an enriching journey that prepares them for meaningful contributions to society.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
