About the Longo Planetarium<\/h3>\r\n
\r\n

Since 1973, the Longo Planetarium has been bringing stars to Northern New Jersey. Here you can explore the Universe from the Earth and other planets in our Solar System to stars, galaxies and beyond. Our newly upgraded Digistar 7 planetarium system can display thousands of stars, the planets and the Moon onto a 33-foot diameter dome. All are welcome to attend public programs; school and scout groups can be scheduled in advance. Our fall schedule features public programs on the 2nd and 4th weekends of the month. <\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n \r\n

Voyage to the Red Planet at the Planetarium<\/h2>\n

Digistar 7, the world\u2019s most advanced planetarium system, has arrived at the County College of Morris\u2019 Longo Planetarium! After a state-of-the-art computer and software upgrade, the planetarium is ready to launch visitors into an out-of-this-world experience to Mars!<\/p>\n

The planetarium is offering star shows for the general public, on the second and fourth weekend of the month. This year a new show \u201cMars: The Ultimate Voyage\u201d will take you on a flight to the red planet. Mars is closest to Earth this winter and so it is the perfect opportunity to explore this fascinating world.<\/p>\n

The planetarium\u2019s popular shows \u201cEdge of Darkness\u201d and \u201cOne Sky\u201d will also continue. \u201cEdge of Darkness\u201d explores comets, asteroids and Pluto. \u201cOne Sky\u201d is a great introduction for kids to the night sky utilizing stories from around the world.<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\n\n\r\n

Edge of Darkness trailer<\/h3>\n

Edge of Darkness<\/em> features amazing scenes of places never seen before. It features a spectacular flight though the great cliffs on comet 67P, to the asteroid belt for a close look at the fascinating icy crust of Ceres, and then out to the fascinating dwarf planet Pluto and its moons. Narrated by Hayley Atwell, Agent Carter, from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n\r\n

Tickets for all shows are $10 per person per show. Online reservations are strongly encouraged; limited tickets will be available for purchase at the door. Please note the ticket purchases cannot be refunded or exchanged.<\/strong><\/p>\n

All programs start promptly at the times indicated. For your safety, guests will not be admitted or readmitted to the Planetarium theater once the lights are off, so please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before showtime.<\/p>\n

It takes several minutes to walk to the planetarium from the parking lot. Tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged.<\/p>\n

County College of Morris is located at 214 Center Grove Rd, Randolph, NJ 07869. Like many college campuses, you cannot drive directly to academic buildings. The closest parking is Lot #7. It takes several minutes to walk from Lot #7 to the planetarium in Cohen Hall room 207. Programs being promptly, so please plan accordingly.<\/p>\n
