About the Program<\/h2>\n

The NJ Department of Health regulates and approves this CCM training program. This course combines lectures and labs in a hospital setting and clinical experience in a long-term care setting, allowing students to master the essential skills to obtain an entry-level position in the healthcare field.\u202f<\/span><\/p>\n

Due to space constraints, this class is limited to 10 students. Demand is very high for this program, and not everyone who wants to enroll will be able to join. Admission to the program occurs after registration for screening and successful completion of Clinical Clearance, on a first come, first served basis. We appreciate your patience and understanding.<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\n\n\r\n

Curriculum<\/p>\r\n

\r\n

Training will be conducted in CCM nursing labs and in actual care facilities. It includes 50 lecture hours and 40 clinical hours. This certificate can be completed in as little as 6-9 weeks. This Comprehensive course includes Healthcare Professional BLS (Basic Life Support) certification concluding with the state required clinical skills exam. Upon the successful completion of the course, students are eligible to take the NJ State approved Certified Nurse Aide certification examination.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n\r\n

The CNA program at CCM has been approved by the NJ Department of Labor for NJ residents who are unemployed or underemployed and wish to receive a training voucher to pay for this program. CNA PROGRAM SCREENING (<\/strong>AHP-365E)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The screening process has a $99 NON-REFUNDABLE processing fee, which covers the cost of a criminal background investigation and expenses incurred by the college to admit you into the program. Registration for screening is due by June 4, 2025 and is limited to 15 applicants.<\/p>\n

Clearance and course registration can take several weeks to complete the prerequisite documentation and clearance requirements.\u00a0 You must start the process early. Prior to the first day of class, students, at their own expense, must satisfactorily complete drug screening at facilities approved by CCM, as well as complete an extensive medical history review. Additional expenses include, but are not limited to, uniforms and textbooks.<\/p>\n

Please note that County College of Morris\u2019 clinical partners require that\u00a0all employees and students at their facilities must be fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19<\/strong>.\u00a0 If you believe this will be a hinderance to your participation in the program, please reach out to\u00a0wfd@ccm.edu<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

CERTIFIED NURSE AIDE COURSE\u2013 COMPREHENSIVE (AHP-163E)<\/strong><\/p>\n

This course combines lecture and labs in a hospital setting and clinical experience in a long-term care setting, allowing students to master the essential skills to obtain an entry level position in the healthcare field. About the Instructors<\/h2>\n

Gifty Adjin-Tettey, RN, MSN<\/b>\u00a0 – Gifty has over 16 years of experience as a registered nurse and is currently the nursing director at a long-term care facility in New Jersey. She received an Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing from LaGuardia Community College, Long Island City, New York and went on to receive a bachelor\u2019s in nursing and a master\u2019s degree in Executive Leadership in Healthcare from the Chamberlain College of Nursing in Addison, Illinois. As a nurse leader, it is her passion to use her knowledge and expertise to mentor people entering the health field, improve their skills and develop best practices that will ultimately lead to better health outcomes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tanisha Williams, RN – <\/strong>Tanisha is a passionate Registered Nurse with over five years of experience across long-term care, hospital, and school-based healthcare settings. As a CNA Instructor and certified Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor, she combines clinical expertise with a strong commitment to student development.\u00a0 Nurse Williams is passionate about preparing the next generation of CNAs with the skills and confidence they need to excel in the field.<\/p>\n

Tanisha\u2019s approach to teaching is hands-on and student-centered, focusing on building the technical skills for her students.
