County College of Morris (CCM),<\/span><\/a> in collaboration with Morristown High School, proudly announces the successful conclusion of the inaugural year of the\u202fAIMTec: Advanced Integrated Manufacturing Technologies\u202fprogram. This transformative, hands-on opportunity was designed to launch high school seniors directly into the modern manufacturing workforce or to be eligible to pursue engineering studies at CCM.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Approximately 16 Morristown High School students enrolled, and completed, the year-long program. By spending 50 percent of each school day at CCM\u2019s Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Center, the students experienced immersive, hands-on training to gain skills in manual machining and CNC operation and programming, as well as integrating Universal Robots (UR) into various manufacturing systems. By the Spring semester, each student was eligible to choose a specialized elective in pneumatics, hydraulics or welding. Upon graduation, all students earned at least six industry-recognized certifications, with some achieving up to ten, and are now prepared for full-time employment with one of CCM\u2019s employer partners or for enrollment into an <\/span>engineering degree program<\/span> at CCM.<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“We are excited to see our AIMTec students carry forward what they\u2019ve learned here at the Center for Workforce Development at CCM,”\u202fsaid Alexandra Hoffmann, Director of Workforce Development & Community Partnerships at CCM.\u202f”They\u2019ve built real-world skills, gained industry-recognized credentials, and opened doors that many people don\u2019t even realize exist.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to the plethora of technical training, students received academic support and career <\/span>readiness programming<\/span> such as on-site tours of employer partner facilities. This included an insightful look into industrial metal stamping, wire EDM and CNC operation, and rebar manufacturing. Students were also interviewed for employment with local manufacturing companies.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are incredibly grateful to the instructors and administration at CCM for providing our students with this amazing opportunity,\u201d said Mark Manning, Principal of Morristown High School. \u201cThe hands-on training that our students received, combined with the industry-recognized certifications they earned, has prepared them to seek meaningful employment that will ensure a family sustaining wage. We are extremely proud of our students who completed this program, and we recognize that this has been a life-changing experience for them.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The AIMTec program at CCM is more than just job preparation, it represents a\u202fcritical effort by the college to rebuild New Jersey\u2019s manufacturing talent pipeline, which has steadily declined over the past decade. By aligning student training with the needs of local employers, AIMTec helps to cultivate a new generation of skilled professionals ready to begin life-sustaining, high-demand careers.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Due to the program\u2019s early success, AIMTec will expand next year to welcome students from additional high schools across the region, further addressing the need for skilled professionals in the state\u2019s manufacturing sector.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
